Various organisational / departmental approval workflows can be created with the number of required signatories that can be mapped to an organisational chart. Using custom values to limit the authority level of each member of the organisational chart, documents are automatically routed to the next signatory with authority to approve of a document.

The document approval system works much like a corporate intranet. Using a web client, bosses and employees can log into their Document Approval system even when away from the office to complete approval tasks that have been assigned to them. Online communication regarding the approval of a document are attached as comments and supporting attachments to provide more information to help each signatory make an approval decision. Approval processes are strictly confidential as only the document owner and required signatories have access to view these comments and attachments.

Once a document has passed through the required signatories and attained final approval, it is then released for further processing. As the document approval solution can be incorporated as part of office messaging, document delivery and document receipt solutions, the approval process can participate in a variety of workflows designed for any of these solutions.
